Skate shops in Europe: the map, the directory and the price gaps
This page is the map and the directory of skate shops across Europe. For 78 of them we track the whole catalogue: 16,938 products across decks, wheels, trucks and shoes. It does two things: it helps you find a shop near you, and it tells you who sells the model you want for less — often not the shop you expected.
Why this page exists: the same gear, very different prices
Fourteen of the shops we track stock the Santa Cruz Classic Dot 7.75": the cheapest at **€42.00**, the dearest at **€89.85**. A **114%** gap on the same model, the same size, the same week. It is not a cherry-picked outlier: it is one of the most widely stocked decks in Europe.
And the more shops carry a product, the wider the spread. Across items stocked by five shops or more, the median gap between cheapest and dearest is **23%, or €20.04**; from three shops it is 18%, and from two, 12%. Twenty euros median on a single part. The price guide breaks it down part by part.
Finding a shop near you
The map puts every shop in the directory where it actually is, with the city, the platform its site runs on and the categories it sells. There are pins in Barcelona, London, Lisbon, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin and Helsinki. The directory reaches beyond the 78 shops whose catalogue we follow, so you will see shops we do not compare yet.
Below the map sits the full index of those 78, grouped by country. From a shop in Helsinki to one in Las Palmas, every page is built the same way, so you can compare shops without working out how each one organises its own site.
What each shop page shows
Every shop page says where the shop is, how many of its products we track and from how many brands, how those split between decks, trucks, wheels and shoes, the price range of its catalogue, and the returns policy when the shop publishes it clearly enough to quote. From there you jump into the deck catalogue or the shoe catalogue filtered to that shop — or go the other way, find the model you want and see every shop stocking it at once. What it means for a shop to be here
One thing and nothing more: that we read the public catalogue it publishes on its own site, and that its prices go into the comparison. There is no editorial selection, no shop pays to appear, and the links go straight to it without earning a commission. The order comes from the data, not from any preference of ours.
That also sets the limits: what you read here is what the shop published the last time we passed by, and the final price, stock and conditions are the ones at its checkout. How the comparator works sets out the coverage, the method and what we still do not know.
How many shops are in the comparator?
We track the catalogue of 78 European shops, 16,938 products in total: 11,008 decks, 2,928 wheels, 2,098 trucks and 901 pairs of shoes. The directory on the map is larger, because it includes located shops we do not track yet.
How do I know which shop sells it cheapest?
Search for the model in the catalogue and open its page: every shop stocking it is listed with its own price. On the Classic Dot, that is the difference between paying €42.00 and €89.85.
Do shops pay to appear on the map?
No. There is no payment and no affiliate commission: the links go straight to the shop's own site. How the comparator works explains it in full.
Can I buy from here?
