Snot

Snot doesn’t make decks. It makes wheels, full stop. If you came here for a board, the deck brand run by the same person is Heroin Skateboards; Snot Wheel Co. is the urethane project of Mark “Fos” Foster, the Englishman who founded Heroin in 1998 and has lived in California for years. The name tells you the register: boogers. Models called Lil’ Boogers, Boogerthane and Wide Boys, graphics drawn by Fos himself, and zero interest in looking like a serious company.

History

Fos started Snot after relocating to the United States, and he did it for a specific reason: to have a wheel company that could push his own riders, starting with Dead Dave. In an October 2025 interview with Supereight he laid out how production works: the early runs came from Creative Urethane, the same American factory that poured his wheels back in the early 2000s, and he alternated orders with a Texas plant that does good cored wheels. Creative has since closed, so he has had to look elsewhere — he sampled Chinese factories and wasn’t convinced. The rest is just as homespun: he handles production himself, out of his garage.

The team

The roster is short and hand-picked. Dead Dave is where it all started. Nolan Houghton, who in his Confusion Magazine interview said flatly “I ride for Snot wheels”, is another fixture. And in that same Supereight interview Fos mentioned he had just added two heavyweights: Jason Adams and Franky Villani. Each has his own model in the catalogue, and the names are as unserious as everything else: “Bad Boys” for Dead Dave, “Roaches” and “Skulls” for Villani, “Spray Cans” and “Wide Boys” for Adams, “Mutant” for Houghton.

The wheels

The catalogue is small but deliberate. The flagship is the Wide Boys: Fos designed them to look like “wheels from the 80s”, with a riding surface wide enough to cover the axle nuts, and has run them in 48 and 54 mm at 83b — a B-scale durometer equivalent to roughly 103a, aimed at fast, smooth concrete. The rest of the range sits between 99a and 101a in diameters from 50 to 60 mm, in conical and classic shapes, and drops to 45 and 48 mm for the Lil’ Boogers, which are deliberately tiny. Boogerthane is the softest formula in the house, between 97a and 99a. There are also “GITD” glow-in-the-dark versions, plus plenty of clear and swirled urethane.

Who it’s for

Snot works if you skate street or park, know what you like, and want a wheel with a personality instead of a catalogue number. The 45 and 48 mm sizes are for people who know exactly what they’re doing — if you’re starting out, stay away. And if you wanted a deck, go to Heroin.
