Thank You

Thank You Skateboards was the brand Torey Pudwill and Daewon Song started in 2018 out of a warehouse in Simi Valley, California. Two of the most technical skaters of their generation deciding to make their own boards, with a smiling cloud for a logo and a catalog aimed squarely at ledges and manuals. The company wound down in 2025, but its decks are still floating around shops, so it’s worth knowing where they came from.

History

It all happened inside one week in November 2018. Pudwill left Plan B, Daewon left Almost — and with Almost, twenty-eight straight years under the Dwindle umbrella, going back to the SMA days — and on the 15th they unveiled Thank You at a screening. The next day Thrasher ran their interview, “Daewon and Torey’s New Company”, and the first promo went live. In it Daewon explained the name was supposed to be something else and that Torey pushed to change it: they wanted a brand that said thank you to the people who got them there, from photographers and filmers to the pros they grew up watching.

That idea turned into the “give back” board series, where a share of the proceeds went to a specific cause, and into tribute models for technical legends: Ronnie Creager’s “Mixmaster” in 2024, and a Cairo Foster guest model with art by Todd Bratrud the same year. Early on the operation was close to homemade — in a 2021 interview on the Slam City Skates blog, Daewon described Torey heat-transferring the boards himself.

The team

Pudwill and Daewon were the core. Around them came Danny Hamaguchi, David Reyes and, in 2025, Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro, who arrived from Jart after twelve years. The most talked-about addition, though, was rapper Lil Wayne, who turned pro for Thank You in December 2022. Outside the regular catalog the brand also did one-offs like the 2023 Child’s Play collaboration, with Chucky front and centre.

The boards and the ending

Graphics were clean and often funny, with the happy cloud as the house mark, and the range was built for tech skating. In 2025 it came apart: David Reyes left for Zero in August, Daewon publicly announced he was done with the brand in December, and by 2026 Pudwill was reported to be back on Plan B. The official web store has been offline for a while.

Who it’s for

If you find a Thank You at a good price and you like the graphic, it’s an ordinary American pro deck and there’s no reason not to buy it. What you should know is that nothing is getting restocked — what’s left in shops is final stock, so don’t count on repeating the same model in six months, or finding it in another width. If you want a brand with a living catalog and guaranteed replacements, look through the rest of the deck catalog.
