Imagine

Imagine Skateboards is from Zaragoza, in northern Spain. The brand doesn’t say anywhere when it started — there’s no history or about page — but its YouTube channel has been open since April 2008 and its boards have shown up in the Spanish skate press since the mid-2010s. The company is based on the Agrupación Nido industrial estate, on Calle Tomás A. Edison, and that’s where the whole catalogue is assembled and shipped from.

History

What is documented is the brand’s most technically ambitious moment. In September 2016, Spanish magazine Staf covered the launch of two pro models built with Tech Carbon construction for Manu Álvarez and Diego Cano: five plies of Canadian maple, two of fibreglass and one of carbon, for more pop and less weight. It was a limited run of a hundred boards in 8.0” and 8.1”, alongside seventy-five tees carrying the line “YOU WILL NEVER SK8 ALONE”. Art direction is handled by illustrator Julián Lorenzo, and the graphics have gone through names like tattooist Mikele, of Union Tattoos in Zaragoza, plus Daniel Lebrón and Joseba Kortazar.

The team

The brand’s channel doubles as a signing archive: Fran Javaloyes joined in 2018, Javier Suárez turned pro in 2019 — he still has his own model in the catalogue — Javier Carmona arrived in December 2019, Nico Leal in 2020, Gabri Melián and Carlos Albi in 2022, Sol Rosales in 2023 and Josu Gereta in 2025. The videos are made in-house and usually hang off a trip: the Sunrise Tour with Dogway (2018), the Euskal Tour (2019), the Family Matters Tour (2020), the Levante Tour (2021), plus pieces like Imagine Mind (2019), Fertile (2023) and Take Away! (2024).

The catalogue

Imagine isn’t only decks: it makes trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, completes, fingerboards and clothing, so you can build a whole setup from in-house parts. The graphics carry a fairly explicit political streak — series like Animal Liberation, No Planet B and Nature vs Pollution sit next to punk and joke graphics like Pizzabox or Skull Punk.

Who it’s for

It makes sense if you want a small brand with its own full parts range and graphics you won’t see everywhere. If you’re after a documented back catalogue, international distribution or a big annual video, this isn’t that brand.
